Store Business Intelligence
Today, the reach and effectiveness of traditional loss prevention methods can be further extended and maximized by implementing store business intelligence solutions.
Store Intelligence gathers information from all of the key data producing systems within the store including point of sale, electronic article surveillance, traffic counters, vendor direct store delivery activity, in store inventory transaction data, to name a few. The data is stored in a powerful data mart which is organized into tables and summarized into logical groups. Statistical totals are stored alongside of the data to make retrieval of meaningful statistics fast and effective.
Store business intelligence gives retailers the means to
- Measure store business performance objectives.
- Manage store operations and, ultimately.
- Improve profitability and performance.

SmartEAS
Typically an EAS detection system alarms because an anti-theft device passes through the sensors without being deactivated or removed. When that happens, responding employees must record the event in manual logs - if they do so at all. At best, these logs offer spotty information to management about loss prevention activities and alarm events. And to get any value from these logs, their contents must be aggregated and analyzed, but these efforts can take so much time that any conclusions drawn from them can be long after-the-fact.
With Sensormatic SmartEAS® solutions, data is captured, transmitted over the store’s IT network in real-time to be analyzed and delivered in graphical, easy-to-read reports that highlight exceptions – even sent as alerts to mobile phones or PDAs. Plus management can review these reports at store, chain or corporate levels, for deeper business insights into store operations.

Key Solutions & Features:
EAS alarm management:
- Collects EAS alarm data and transfers it to a centralized location for reporting re-enforcing the proper execution of your EAS program.
- Alarm management provides insight to the number and cause of the alarms and whether store personnel are administering the program correctly
EAS Remote Service Capability
- Reports will display the system status of all connected EAS equipment
- Provides remote set-up, firmware updates and problem diagnosis of EAS systems
Ability to Measure Store Performance
- Automatic alerts sent to store personnel as soon as equipment concerns occur
- Alarm data helps management identify and track shrink and failure-to-deactivate (FTD) challenges
People Counting Data Measures Store Operational Performance
- Measure traffic patterns to determine peak and low traffic times, assisting with employee staffing
- Determine store conversion rates by comparing traffic volume to actual sales
- Verify the effectiveness of advertising and promotional campaigns
EAS Power Management
- Employs low power stand-by mode during off hours for scheduled EAS devices
- Decrease power usage by the EAS devices during a 12 hour store day
People Counting
The capturing of consumer traffic provides retailers with critical insight into store performance vital to maximizing operational efficiencies, customer service, marketing effectiveness, and strategic planning efforts.
There are two possibilities available to retailers to improve sales; increase visitors or convert those visitors into customers. Conversion rate - the ratio of visitors to actual sales transactions - is critical in evaluating multiple key business functions and setting performance goals. The conversion rate can improve sales dramatically by providing comparisons of store performance by location or time, measure the customer's shopping patterns and trends, as well as help provide accurate forecasts on store traffic and expected revenue.
People Counting solutions provide retailers with a business tool to help measure and refine their current strategic direction and performance objectives, as well as play an important role in developing future strategies.
Key Solutions & Features:
Conversion Rates
- Traffic count with POS data allows retailer to analyze conversion rates and compare store performance by location or time.
Queue Management
- Improve customer service by reducing customer wait times at the cashier, start a new cashier queue when waiting time is too long to avoid lost sales.
Marketing and Merchandising Performance
- Find out effectiveness of marketing campaigns with traffic count trends over location and time.
- Evaluate merchandising effectiveness with heat zone mapping and other consumer behavior analytics
